Baptism
Baptisms (sometimes called “christenings”)
If you are considering having your child baptised at All Saints we recommend you come to the Church Office at 7pm on Tuesday evening. However there are a few points we think are important and these might help you before you come along.
Usually we expect that you live within the parish of All Saints or that you regularly attend services here. Also we should make you aware that baptisms at All Saints take place during normal services, usually the 11.15 Family Service. We at All Saints believe that baptism is really important. In a baptism service people declare their own faith and commitment to Christ, and as parents and godparents they promise to bring up their child in the Christian faith and within the family of the church.
Baptism isn't right for everyone so there is an alternative service, which is called a "Thanksgiving for the gift of a child". If you think that one of these services is what you want for your child, or you are not sure, please come along and discuss any problems or concerns you may have.
